The Art of Physick Culture and Medicine Walking Tour

Join us for a guided walk around Kensington – one of London's most chic, cosmopolitan and culturally rich neighbourhoods – to explore the fascinating and complex connections between medicine and the arts, science and society across time.

Commencing near the neighbourhood's underground station, our journey will take in a library named in honour of the nation's most beloved illustrator and an advocate for 'therapeutic art', the studio of one of the 20th century's most acclaimed (and tortured) artists, the home of the 'Father of South Kensington' and the apartment of a conductor who gave his name to a cancer charity.

Also featured are the area's numerous 'Royal' institutions: the Royal College of Music, Royal Albert Hall and Royal Geographical Society amongst them. We conclude by crossing the 'Route du Roi' to visit Britain's grandest memorial. A monument to a man who, though married to a Queen, would never be allowed to call himself a King.

Our tour will end with a complimentary drink at The Queens Arms.

Ticket costs are £30 per person, which includes a donation to the St. Nicholas Fund.
